#10 Things I've been obsessed with this week.
The book that made me forget to eat dinner, a comedy-drama that will restore your faith in humanity, and a compelling true crime podcast.
Hello!
On Thursday night, I read a book that was so bloody compelling, I forgot to eat dinner. Or go to the toilet. Or even check Instagram.
The book was Yellowface, the buzzy new publishing thriller by Rebecca F. Kuang.
June Hayward is a struggling white writer. Athena Liu is a darling of the literary world. When Athena dies in front of her, June steals her unfinished manuscript and publishes it under the name Juniper Song. June’s literary career skyrockets, but she can’t shake Athena’s ghost or the constant allegations about her work.
Yellowface is a bitingly funny satire about the publishing industry, a clever commentary on cancel culture and white privilege, and a thriller packed with unexpected twists.
You should read it immediately (but don’t forget to go to the loo!).
