The books I read and loved in June.
A nostalgic murder mystery, an outback thriller, and the new novel from Taffy Brodesser-Akner.
It’s my favourite time of the month, where I share the books I’ve read, loved and would genuinely recommend to the people in my life.
This month I’ve got two pacey thrillers for you, a satirical family saga and a quirky novel about OnlyFans — it’s a literary balanced diet!
Here are the books I couldn’t put down in July:
Middle of the Night by Riley Sager
Stranger Things meets a Jane Harper novel in this psychological thriller set in an idyllic American neighbourhood.
When Ethan is 10 years old, he wakes up from a night of camping in his backyard to find there’s a massive slit in the tent and his best friend Billy is nowhere to be seen.
30 years later, when Ethan moves back into his parents’ house after the end of his relationship, he begins to think Billy is haunting him.
Over the course of a week, as he investigates his best friend’s murder, Ethan discovers the people around him have been hiding some dark secrets.
Read it if you liked: The House in the Pines by Ana Reyes or Behind Here…
