The second instalment in my ‘Best Of’ series is the best documentaries of 2024. This year was a particularly good year for documentaries with Netflix delivering some mindblowing true crime docu-series and Disney+ giving us a hit of nostalgia with Brats.

In 1974, Cathy Terkanian gave birth to a daughter who she named Alexis. She was only 16 at the time and when Alexis was nine months old, her mother convinced her to give the baby up for adoption.
It was a closed adoption, so Cathy had no idea what had become of Alexis until April 2010, when she received a letter from the adoption agency informing her that Alexis, who was now named Aundria, had been missing for 21 years.
