#57 What I've been reading, watching and listening to this week.
Netflix's new age-gap rom-com, the return of The Bear and another true crime podcast.
Okay, I watched the ‘Netflix version of The Idea of You’ last night and I have to say I didn’t hate it as much as I thought I would.
I am, of course, talking about A Family Affair, the movie in which Nicole Kidman plays a 50-year-old writer who starts a relationship with her daughter’s 34-year-old movie star boss, played by Zac Efron.
The daughter is played by Netflix’s favourite daughter Joey King, rounding out the most unexpected cast of 2024.
Anyway, Kidman and Efron have zero chemistry and I spent a lot of the movie trying to figure out how Zac Efron ruined his beautiful face and why Nicole Kidman agreed to do this movie, but like I said I didn’t hate it.
This movie falls squarely into the ‘so bad it’s good’ category and it’s definitely worth a watch, even if it’s just to try to figure out what Zac Efron did to his beautiful face.
