#82 Things I'm Obsessed With This Week.
Dying for Sex, Dear Rachelle and The Last Anniversary.
Dying for Sex premiered on Disney+ last night in Australia (it’s on Hulu in the US). The series, which is based on the chart-topping podcast of the same name, tells the true story of Molly (Michelle Williams), a 40-year-old woman who is diagnosed with incurable metastatic breast cancer and leaves her sexless marriage to explore her sexuality before she dies.
Despite its sad premise, this series is a lot of fun and goes to unexpected places like Molly’s mum walking in on her while she’s giving a man, who likes to cosplay as a dog, a golden shower after she’s just finished a chemotherapy session.
The casting is brilliant with Jenny Slate playing Molly’s best friend Nikki, Jay Duplass as her estranged husband Steve, Sissy Spacek as her mother, Esco Jouley as her palliative care therapist and Rob Delaney as her weird neighbour.
With just eight episodes with an average run-time of around 30 minutes, you can easily binge the first season in one night.
