#75 What I've been watching, reading and listening to this week.
We Live In Time, High Potential and The Con: Kaitlyn's Baby.
Last weekend I saw We Live In Time at my local cinema and cried my little eyes out.
It stars Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield as Almut and Tobias, two thirty-somethings who are catapulted into each other’s lives when Almut hits Tobias with her car, while he’s eating a Terry’s Orange Chocolate on the way back to his hotel room to sign his divorce papers.
The film flashes between three timelines — when they first meet, when they first discover Almut has ovarian cancer and later try for a baby, and when they discover Almut’s cancer is back.
It’s such a lovely film — funny, sad, nostalgic — with incredible chemistry between the two leads and a bunch of supporting characters you’ll quickly fall in love with.
It kind of reminded me of About Time, another greatly underrated British rom-com that I’m definitely due to rewatch.
