#71 What I've been watching, reading and listening to this week.
Two new Australian series and a new podcast obsession.
Anyone who has been following my work for a little while will know that one of my favourite TV series of all time is Love My Way. I loved the way (lol) the series explored all the messy and beautiful bits of being in your 30s and I thought the casting was incredible - the series starred Asher Keddie, Claudia Karvan, Brendan Cowell and Dan Wylie, just to name a few.
So I was delighted when I found out that Keddie and Cowell were going to star in the TV adaptation of Cowell’s 2021 novel, Plum.
Cowell plays the protagonist Peter ‘Plum’ Lum, a retired Cronulla Sharks player, who in his late 40s begins to experience symptoms of CTE, from repeated concussions and blows to the head. And Keddie plays his ex-wife, who remains one of his close friends.
Through the six episode series, Plum and the people around him, have to come to terms with what the game they love has done to the man who probably loved it most of all.
