If you’ve been here for awhile you’ll know that one of my favourite TV niches is ‘rich people doing terrible things to each other’ and this week a show premiered on Disney+ that fits nicely into that genre.
Rivals is an adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s bestselling book of the same name and it stars David Tennant, Danny Dyer and Aidan Turner. Set in the cut throat world of British TV in the late 1980s, the series follows MP Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex Hassell) and TV executive Tony Baddingham (Tennant) as their longstanding rivalry comes to a head.
The Newsreader meets Saltburn with a sprinkle of Succession, I never knew what was going to happen next while I was watching Rivals.
