Hello!
The adaptation of Lisa Taddeo’s bestselling non-fiction book, Three Women, premiered on Stan this week.
The 10-episode series follows writer Gia (Shailene Woodley) who convinces three women — entrepreneur Sloane (DeWanda Wise), homemaker Lina (Betty Gilpin) and student Maggie (Gabrielle Creevy) — to allow her to follow them and tell their story.
Each of the three women have a unique story to tell about love, sex, power and consent. Maggie is in her early 20s and is still recovering from a relationship with her married high school teacher. Lina, a mother in her 30s, is reconnecting with her high school boyfriend after her husband refused to kiss her. And Sloane, a powerful businesswoman, has threesomes with her husband.
Three Women is an unflinching look at the relationship women have with sex and their struggle for bodily autonomy. It’s also unexpectantly funny and full of penises ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
